Encourage children to discuss a non-fiction text that they are reading with this fun activity. In pairs, they must take it in turns to spell out a word as they open the chatterbox in different directions. They must then choose a symbol and finish the sentence underneath. The sentences challenge children to make links, consider audience and purpose, talk about their thoughts and feelings, and ask questions.

Full instructions are provided.
