Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No — it's CGP+'s amazing Superhero Penguins Interactive Phonics Game! Although technically it is a bird too… but let's ignore that bit...

It's designed to increase pupils' awareness of words that rhyme, and it's great for helping them polish their listening skills and teaching them to distinguish between phonemes.

In this engaging game, pupils will hear a recording of a word, and see a matching picture. Below that, they'll be given four more words and they have to pick which one rhymes with the word at the top — each option is also read aloud and accompanied by a colourful picture. If you like, you can choose to see all the words written out on-screen.

All our Phonics games are perfect for putting some extra pep into your Phonics lessons — play with the whole class on your Interactive Whiteboard, or one-to-one. And with their bright pictures, jolly characters and snazzy animations, pupils won't even realise how much they're learning!
