Get ready for some al-fresco fun with this picnic-themed Interactive Phonics Game. Oh and pass the cocktail sausages please…

This game is designed to give pupils practice of blending for reading and to grow their understanding of how graphemes and phonemes correspond. It can also be used to practise reading words with adjacent consonants and polysyllabic words.

It goes like this:
Pupils see a word and have to decide whether it's real or made-up. You can choose which graphemes are included in the game. And that's it — simple but very effective!

All our Phonics games are perfect for playing with the whole class on your Interactive Whiteboard, or one-to-one. They’re jam-packed with colourful pictures, jolly characters and snazzy animations, to make sure pupils stay super-engaged and are learning at the same time!

P.S. If you're on a roll, we have a whole buffet of amazing Real or Fake Phonics games.

Once children have completed this game, recognise their achievement with the Brilliant Blending Certificate or Fake Finder Award.
