Use this fun activity to encourage children to practise oral segmenting and blending to read CVCC words. It can be played one to one, in pairs or in small groups. Model sound talking the words for children to blend, ensuring there is emphasis on the second consonant in these words. Children must decide whether the word is a real word or an alien word and place it on the alien or the astronaut.
