This 'Roll and Read' activity is a great way to test children's understanding of high frequency words. Children must take it in turns to roll the dice to select a row. Next they must read the first word in that row out loud before colouring it in to show it has been read. To make the game competitive it can be played in pairs with each playing taking it in turns. The first person to colour in a whole row wins.
