What is CGP+?

CGP+ is a huge online library of brilliant Primary teaching resources, plus unbeatable extras you can only get from CGP.

Using the CGP+ Website

Searching, finding and browsing resources

If you know what you need, just head to the search bar in the header. Once you’ve searched, you can filter your results by key stage, subject, topic, school year, resource type and level. You can browse by subject and topic by viewing our website menus.

If you need help narrowing down options on a page then you can use our friendly filters. You can use as many as you'd like at once, and use the + to see more detailed options.

Supported browsers

We recommend using the latest version of your web browser to access CGP+. It’s best to whitelist our website in any ad block / pop-up blocker software that you use.

Free Trials & Subscriptions

CGP+ free trials information

Get free access to the whole of CGP+ for 30 days when you sign up for a free trial, including all the great benefits that you get with a full CGP+ subscription.

How do I start a free trial?

Take a look at our subscriptions page, click on the ‘Free Trial’ button in the header bar, or use the handy link next to any of our resources. We just need few details from you, then you can verify your email and away you go!

Which subscription is right for me?

If you're a teacher / tutor / parent then try our monthly or yearly subscriptions — with an yearly subscription you'll save around 17%

If you're a school administrator or department head buying subscriptions for multiple people, then try our Yearly Multi-User subscription. Just add as many licenses to your basket as you need. We offer discounts on our Yearly Multi-User subscriptions:

  • £40/year per user
  • 10 licences = £400 annually (save £80)
  • 20 licences = £800 annually (save £160)
  • 30 licences = £1,200 annually (save £240)

Accessing my subscription

If you’re having trouble accessing resources in your CGP+ subscription, try the following:

  • Visit Your Subscription to check your subscription status
    • If it’s ‘Active’, you should be good to go!
    • If it says ‘Renewal Pending’, there may be a problem with your payment
    • If it says ‘Expired’, you might need to reactivate your subscription!
  • Make sure you’re logged in to the right account.

Admin access for subscriptions

The original purchaser of a CGP+ school account will have ‘Admin’ privileges. This allows them to invite teachers to join their school CGP+ account and make other users ‘Admins’. All additional users will need to be registered CGP+ accounts (do it for free here). They will receive an email invitation with a link to follow, and they can click 'Accept' on the pop-up and it's ready to go!

How to invite teachers to your multi-user subscription

If you have purchased a multi-user CGP+ subscription for your School, you can invite Teachers via Your Subscription. Within Your Subscription, just type the email address of the teacher you’d like to add into the ‘Invite a new user to CGP+' box. This will automatically send that user an email, from which they’ll be able to accept their invitation to join CGP+ — find out more about how to accept invitations here.

If you’d like to remove a teacher’s access for any reason, all you need to do is click ‘Remove user’.

The email address that you use to purchase the subscription will be the main admin of the account. You can add other users and make them admins, but the email address used to purchase the multi-user subscription cannot be removed from the account.

If you remove a teacher you can reallocate the licence. This will not change the renewal date of the licence.

I’ve been invited to an account – what next?

You will receive an email containing a link. To access your subscription, follow the link, pop your email address and password in, and away you go. Woohoo!

How do I find out when my membership renews?

Go to ‘Your Account’, and ‘Your Subscription’. Your next payment date will be displayed.

Cancelling your subscription

The Monthly and Yearly Subscription Plans will renew automatically unless you cancel them, which you can do in Your Account. You may cancel your Subscription Plan at any time via the ‘Your Subscription’ page within Your Account or by emailing customerservices@cgpbooks.co.uk. Your cancellation will be effective at the end of the payment period.

I have just bought a subscription/free trial, why can’t I see it in my account?

If you have purchased a subscription, and the payment has gone through, but it's not showing on the 'Your Subscription' page in Your Account then here's what to do:

  • Check your inbox for any verification emails
  • Wait 5 minutes, it might still be processing!
  • Check that you’re logged into the same account that you purchased the subscription with
  • If it still isn't showing then contact our Customer Services Team on customerservices@cgpbooks.co.uk, live chat or 0800 1712 712.

Can I share my account with someone?

Sorry, your account is your own. If you would like multiple accounts then check out our Multi-User Subscription which offers yearly discounts!

You can only be logged into one device at a time — you will be automatically logged out of any other devices.

How do I renew my subscription?

Our monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically, so you don't need to do anything.

Failed payment help

If your payment has failed because your card has expired, you can easily change your card details by selecting the ‘Change Payment’ action. You’ll find this in ‘Your Subscription’.

If your payment has failed for another reason, your subscription will show as ‘Renewal Pending’ and you will not be able to access your resources until the payment has gone through.

Updating payment methods

You can change your card details on the 'Your Subscription' page within Your Account. If you are not the admin of your subscription, or you are using a licence on someone else's subscription, the admin of that account will need to change the payment details.

Paying annually

If you are on a Yearly Subscription, payment will be taken from the card that was used to originally purchase the subscription. The renewal date can be found in 'Your Subscription' within Your Account.

Paying monthly

If you are on a Monthly Subscription then payment will be taken from the card that was used to originally purchase the subscription. The renewal date can be found in 'Your Subscription' within Your Account. This will be the same date every month.

Paying on a school account

If you are paying on a school multi-licence account, then all of the licences will renew on the same date every year. The renewal date can be found in 'Your Subscription' within Your Account. If you remove a user and reassign the licence, then the renewal date of the licence will not change.

Is there a limit on how many resources I can download?

CGP consider the following to be a reasonable amount of downloads, with no user needing to download more than:

  • 50 resources per day
  • 200 resources per month

These limits include worksheets, PowerPoints and viewing videos. We will review subscriptions and usage if this download limit has been exceeded, in accordance with our fair use policy. We reserve the right to change these limits.

You can see your previously downloaded resources in the 'Your Downloads' page in Your Account. Make sure you're signed in!

  • When you press download you will see a little blue arrow in your search bar
  • Click on the arrow
  • Then on the pop up click the 'Downloads'
  • You should be able to see the resource you just downloaded.

Can I download and save the videos?

Viewing resources on a mobile/tablet

CGP+ resources work best on a desktop. If something doesn't look like it's up to CGP's usual standard then try downloading on desktop. If it still looks wrong then contact our friendly Customer Services Team on customerservices@cgpbooks.co.uk.

Help for iPhone: Worksheets open in your browser, you can download them onto your phone, or save them to your files. PowerPoints will go into the Downloads folder in the Files app, you can view them there.

Interactive Games

What device is best to use the Interactive Games on?

Our games are designed for using in the classroom, so they’re best played on desktop computers. It’s even better if they’re played on a nice big screen or Interactive Whiteboard, so you can see the characters in all their glory!

You can also play the games on tablets and mobiles – they work best on devices in ‘landscape mode’ (turned 90 degrees), but portrait will also work.

I want to teach a specific phase of Phonics – can I do that using your games?

You sure can! Our Rhyming and Alliteration games practise Phase 1 skills. Our Segmenting, Real or Fake, Sentence Building and Comprehension games all cover Phases 2-5. You can select which phase you want to focus on within each game. For the Segmenting and Real or Fake games, you can also choose the specific graphemes you want to practise.

I’ve been experiencing speed issues with the games

Sometimes, the speed of the games can be affected if you have lots of tabs open. Try closing all the tabs you don’t need and refresh the game page. If you’re still struggling, please get in touch with customerservices@cgpbooks.co.uk and we’ll see if we can help.

Creating Lessons

What can I use Lesson Lists for?

Lesson Lists are perfect for planning lessons or saving resources you like the look of - you can create Lesson Lists here. Download them into a handy ZIP file, or share them with colleagues, pupils or parents.

How do I create a Lesson List?

It’s easy! Just click the heart next to any resource. You can type a Lesson Name into the box and create a new list, or add it to an existing Lesson List using the dropdown box.

Your Classes

How do I create a class?

Before you can set homework in CGP+, you'll need to create a class.

In Your Account, go to Your Classes. Click Create New Class and away you go! You can create as many classes as you want.

How do I add pupils to my class?

Once you’ve created a class, you’ll be taken to the Edit Class page where you can add your pupils — either individually or all at once using a handy spreadsheet template. Please note — you'll need to enter a unique name for each of your pupils.

How many pupils can I have in my classes?

You’ll get 35 'class seats' with every CGP+ licence. So, if you’ve got a multi-user account with 5 licences, you’ll have room for 35 × 5 = 175 pupils for your users to share.

I’ve run out of class seats — how do I make room for more pupils?

If you'd like to add more class seats, you can add more licences to your account by contacting Customer Services.

If you'd prefer to keep your current total, you can either deactivate or delete pupils. If you deactivate pupils it’ll keep their name stored in your class for the future. If you delete them, it’ll remove their information permanently. You can also delete or deactivate full classes at once.

Setting Homework

Do my pupils need an account to access homework on CGP+?

Nope. Once you’ve set the homework and sent the link to your pupils, all they need to do is enter their full name. You’ll just need to make sure their name matches the one in Your Classes or they won’t be able to see the homework.

Can pupils complete their homework online?

Our worksheets are designed to be printed out, but there’s no reason your pupils couldn’t just jot their answers down in a book. With CGP+ Homework Hub, you can also set games, videos or PowerPoints for your pupils to play or watch in their own time – no printer required!

Can I set personalised homework for different students?

Absolutely. When you set a homework you have the option to select a whole class or individual pupils.

How long does the share link last?

The link will stay active until you mark the homework as Done.

Can I change which resources I've already set?

Yep — you can add or remove resources once the homework has been set.

What should I do when I’ve finished with a homework, or want to remove it?

In Your Homework Hub, you’ll find options to Move to Done, Cancel or Delete your homework:

Move to Done — Once you’ve finished with, this will store it away in the Done tab, where you can make copies to edit and use again in the future. This will also cancel the shareable link.
Cancel — This will cancel the homework link and un-set it. You can set the homework again whenever you like.
Delete — This will remove the homework permanently from your account.

Can I record pupils’ homework results?

Not at the moment. We’re always looking to improve CGP+, so watch this space!

Can I re-use old homework?

You bet. If you want to set homework for another class or use it as a starting point for a new assignment, click Options, then Make a copy. Then you can edit and set it as you see fit.

What happens when my homework passes the due date?

Nothing to worry about — we’ll just highlight the date in lovely red text to remind you that it’s due. When you’ve finished with the homework, click Options and Mark as Done.

More Resource FAQs

How do foundation and stretch resources differ from standard versions?

Foundation resources have been adapted to support lower ability pupils — for example, questions may have been simplified, or extra guidance or scaffolding may have been added to make it easier for pupils to answer the questions.

Stretch resources have been adapted to challenge more able pupils — for example, the questions may have been made trickier, or extra, more challenging tasks may have been added.

Can I edit PowerPoints?

Yes, you can edit PowerPoints. To do this you need to:

  • Download the PowerPoint
  • Open your presentation app/program
  • Then go to File > Open and find the resource you’ve just downloaded
  • You might need to click the button ‘Enable editing’ that appears when you open the PowerPoint.

We're always open to new ideas. Just fill in this quick form to request a resource, remembering to give us as much detail as possible.
